Perfect! Easy for my kids to use . Cleaning is easier with a small brush , like you’d use for cleaning straws, which is kind of time consuming . Overall great productAfter reading several comments about it falling apart I am happy to report that we've been using it at least once daily and it has been working perfectly after a couple of a months. The blades are still very sharp (use caution if hand washing). I really like the aluminum frame, it's strong and comfortable to use. As with any blade, I wouldn't throw it in a drawer where the cutting blades can get nicked or dulled on other utensils. I hang mind on a hook inside a cupboard door. The apple sections nearly identical which gives me the opportunity to be a little artsy when I serve my wife her evening apple. For odd shaped apples, it may require a little more down force on the high side of the apple to keep the core aligned with the core cutting circle. A technique you should master after the second apple. When/if it ever needs replacing I'll buy the same one again, without a second thought.I enjoy sliced apples for eating and for baking. This tool makes slicing apples so much faster. As I am a petite person, I need to put the apple on a sturdy table that is lower than my kitchen countertop to be able to get my body weight on top of it when I push down. I can then easily slice through the apple and discard the core. Peeling the apple first makes it easier to slice through the apple. I highly recommend this product.This is very very sharp and works extremely well. Built much better and way more stable than the plastic type. My wife uses it twice every day and it is easy for her. Only trick is to get it kind of 'rocked in' past the skin of the apple before applying force. But once you do that, the motion is swift and thorough even through the big hard red apples. It works on pears as well, just have to make sure and adjust the angle of the cut to follow the core, which is often at an angle in pears. I think some reviews where it has broken early on was perhaps because they didn't get it started gently before pushing and ended up putting too much strain on the structure. We will see long term but so far it seems extremely sturdy. Watch your fingers when washing and so on as the blades are almost razor sharp.Wish they can make more study, because of the large (big) apples. Diameter should be 1” or 1/2” moreThank youI had an earlier model Westmark apple slicer/corer which after years finally wore out, couple blades fell off, so I looked up Westmark and other brands, and settled quickly on Westmark's Grey 10-Slicer. It's sharp and solid, with firm pressure, cuts right down all the way, providing ten large slices of my favorite Granny Smith apples for pies. The blades are attached solidly to the frame and ought to stay put a long long time. Rinses off easily, expect it will not wear out before I do, many pies down the road.On a recent visit to my step-daughter to help her move, I unpacked and used an apple corer for the first time. She said whimsically, "It will change your life." When I returned home I looked for the brand I had used but I didn't care for the Amazon reviews, whereas this product received 5 stars. It's only been used a few times, but 'so far, so good.' Very sharp (I keep it in its box) and more sturdily constructed with the outer part of the blade mounted through slots in the solid aluminum outer ring, not merely attached at its surface. I recommend rotating the central circular blade to break the apple skin first before applying full downward force, as thick skins are the cause of the hardest resistance against the blades.I broke my last one that was made from plastic around the edges so I bought this one. I like that it makes 10 slices. My old one did not.LOVED the whole idea of being able to quickly and easily cut my apple into uniform sections. I especially like that it's made in Germany, which has an excellent reputation for its high quality manufacturing standards and stainless steel. It takes a bit of pressure to get it going, and if you wear glasses (like me) watch for the occasional drops of juice.It is so easy to use, easy to clean (a quick rinse under hot water and it's done) and it's very sturdy.
